Since recently shutting down my old page (grumble), I have lost a lot of my Technorati ranking. That’s how one of my former primary advertisers, Text Link Ads figures out if they want to add advertising to a particular blog, and then they calculate the earnings based on your Technorati rank.
My rank used to be an 8 (and ranks can go up into the hundreds), and I still made decent money from the ads. My rank is now a 1. So I need a favor: if you have your own site, could you please update your link for me on your blogroll, making sure to remove the old blog name and use the new one instead? And if you’re new, I’d surely love a little linky action. I’ll give as good as I get. *wink, wink* *nudge, nudge*

Hmmm. I actually went and looked at Technorati for the first time in forever. It doesn’t list my blog under my claimed sites, but then when I tried to submit (another) claim, it told me I had already claimed it. Also, no way to update the listing? And their GetSatisfaction site has gone to hell. My Technorati ranking has *got* to be better than 1.
So I’m questioning TLA’s use of Technorati, although I don’t know what would be a more appropriate alternative.
Not that I expect you to do anything about it. I’m just complaining.
