Tomorrow the Vox family and Daisy, the Vox golden retriever, are loading up in the car after school and starting our drive to Denver, where we’ll be attending our brother-in-law’s funeral. (Mr. Vox’s sister’s husband.) He’d had cancer for about 14 months–it started in his throat and the radiation and chemo didn’t hold it at bay for long. Surgery wasn’t an option because there just wasn’t enough room in his neck to do the kind of cutting that they’d have needed to do. We’re really sad about his loss because he was an amazing, loving guy that people sincerely enjoyed being around and we’ll miss him forever.
We’ll make it to Ogden, Utah tomorrow evening, then finish the drive on Thursday. We’ll stay with my brother and his wife, and then Junior Vox and I will fly home on Sunday morning. Mr. Vox and Daisy are going to stay behind for a week and help his sister get some things resolved with the estate and with her husband’s belongings.
I’m not taking a computer, but I’ll be on Facebook intermittently and will post back here after JV and I get home. In the meantime, you guys be good and tell people you love them, okay?
